Are you sure your engine is correctly sized for the job? Deutz don't like to be run at lower rpm, if they are the hp rating falls off pretty fast.

Second you're pulling 80hp turbine, which is probably rated at 1760 rpm so you are actually pulling more than 80 hp. 15kw genset plus gearhead loss which all together is probably well over 100hp, if I had to guess I'd say you're pulling 110hp. Burning 4.8 gph that's 22.9 hp/hr per gallon, not too shabby

FWIW I'm burning 6.5-7 gph with an IH 414 (1086 engine) on a pump that has 124 hp worth of pump in the hole. The difference comes if I set the speed at 1760 or 1800 rpm.
