Subject: Corn Growers in the South

The Delta
The post below got me to thinking, I'm upping my rice acres and trimming corn acres, against the grain of many below for 2013, reason being I had corn yields anywhere from 120 bpa to 245 bpa this year, all planted within 14 days, all inputs same on good ground. This doesn't make any sense, my soil checks out, behind upper 50 bu aph soybeans. Mostly mixed dirt with alittle post oak glade or white dirt, and well drained on twin row 38" with a monosem. Any ideas on improving this? Any one noticed the same? My changes so far include going to 30" rows and starter fert.
