If we can tell that a cow has a newborn calf that is red and has enough markings to be assumed a hereford when he grows up we will sell them as a pair as soon as possiable. A good black cow with a red baldy or feathered calf will usually bring the same as the same cow with a black calf, but that hereford looking calf will usually get disscounted 150 dollars as a 8 weight.
We have discussed retaining ownership of our hereford looking calves because we know they are actually more like F-1s and should grow and finish like F1s but I don't think they are ever going to give us a CAB bonus. Haha.
