If you were using a SF3000 JD receiver during your JD equipment demo, you would see more accuracy due to the addition of the GLONASS satellites.
Plus, SF1 has a couple inches of better accuracy vs WAAS which is what you were running off of with your Ag Leader equipment.
Does the Versa/OnTrac system require TSIP to use autosteer?
Technically you don't get better accuracy with with GLONASS satellites. You get more satellite availability, more birds in the air. You may keep your signal better during periods where one would typically expect satellite availability to be questionable.
WAAS with the GPS1500 is advertised as 6-8" pass to pass. I thought SF1 was always advertised as +/- 10" pass to pass?
TSIP is a proprietary Trimble language, Trimble Standard Interface Protocol. While the Ag Leader displays have the ability to use TSIP with certain Trimble receivers, the GPS1500 would provide the Versa/OnTrac2 with industry standard NMEA messages. |
