SC KY | We free choice the mineral on a 1 to 1 with white loose salt. Old timer once said cows would wear out thier tongues trying to get enough from a lick. Just his opinion. We make our own mineral with a base of dolomite lime. It's been a work in progress, as we find new defiencies we add something more. The weather/time of year makes a big difference in consuption. We rotate through 5 paddocks. They are not all the same for fertitily and the cows mineral intake is different for each one. | |
