Subject: Unloading a hopper bottom without a permanent pit.

Ludington/Manistee MI area

Been thinking about graduating to a semi to haul grain from the feild to the bins for a bit now and after todays circus I decided if I have to sell a kidney to do it next year I will have a semi. We have 3 different bin sites so a permanent pit would not be feasible.  I've been thinking of a 22-26 ft hopper bottom.  I see the drive over portable pits how do they work out?  Our bin salesman is adiment that I should by a jump auger to push under the trailer for each load sounds like a P.I.T.A. to me.  Buddy of mine cautions against a swing away auger based on his own experience with a long trailer he had.   I should clarify that don't have to switch back and forth alot between bins thru out a harvest season.
