Dalton, OH | The rye was drilled in on October 1 about an inch deep at 2 bu per acre. October was cooler than normal and damp. we've had a couple night in a row where the temp got down the 23 degrees and i am surprised they are still there. Slugs are by no means new to me as we have been dealing with them on and off on many fields, but I have never seen them quite this thick in the fall or do damage like this in the fall.I have not had good experiences with bait, but have had some success with a extremely salty fertilizer application at night on the corn. This year has really turned into a test and I'm ready to move onto next year! Thanks for the replies. | |
