In a rather lengthy post of mine that probably few read I laid out my opinion on the directions things would need to continue for hyperinflation to occur (and my hope that there would be policy change so it would not).
This essay in Business Insider in many ways reflects my thinking on the importance of the bond market but he comes at it from another angle. I had not thought of this in exactly the same light yet I have pointed out the demographics mismatch that exists (who is going to buy all the "investments" as the baby boomers fade into the sunset). He says hyperinflation will come because of a lack of other investments. Once confidence is lost in the bond marked, this will lead to hyperinflation, rather than what people traditionally think of being the cause ie the excess printing of money.
I guess that is kind of what I said after all. I just came away with some enlightenment so thought I would share the article.
