I'm starting to think a large percentage of farmers do not truly understand soil tilth. A couple farms have sold in our area. No tilled strip tilled for 20 plus years. First thing new tennants did was rip the snot out of them. I don't understand their thinking. All of the hard work has been done and they are throwing it away just so their rear end can bounce around in a tractor seat. Good grief

Maybe he truly does understand soil tilth. Maybe he's planting alfalfa. It is beyond me how irresponsible row croppers are when they run a short rotation. Certainly they must understand that you need at least a 6 year rotation with half your acres in alfalafa. GOOD GRIEF!
