I think if you are in a cooler area of the country the vt can be usefull. I also agree w Jim somewhat, but I would add that in those cooler areas the vt tools if used in the fall can get the leaves and husks etc knocked down so they can start breaking down, then you can use your no till type bean planter in the spring and not have as large of a chance of sidewall smearing etc. In other words maybe get out there a bit earlier, especially if you have a farm that is heavy. If you are using them properly and going a couple inches deep you wont put too much into the ground and frost will be your friend if you smeared a bit of soil.
