Subject: Re: vertical tillage

We just traded off our 30ft reel disk this fall. They are built extremely heavy and do an excellent job as a spring finisher (only when soil is dry). They seem to last about 6-8000 acres before needing overhaul in my exp. They are a little high maintenance with several grease zerks that can require a screw driver to get to most of the time due to dirt packed over them, this was our biggest complaint as this can take 45 min some days. We are going to try a case 330 turbo mostly because of its maintenance advantage over reel.
