What is it that you are trying to accomplish with VT? Every thing I see them do is exactly what I don't want to see in my no till fields. In corn stalk fields going to soybeans I don't want the residue mixed into the soil. I don't want my stalks shredded with a shredding corn head or a bat wing bush hog. I try to leave as much stalk standing as possible, much less residue to cut through the next spring. I see absolutely zero advantage to using one in the fall. What does that accomplish? What does a $45000 VT tool do that a light disk won't do? My disk all went down the road as I am 100% no till. My thoughts are they are a fad being pushed by equipment companies who are not selling disks anymore.
