Subject: RE: EZ Guide 250 questions

Floyd County, Iowa
Here's the micro switch I used.
You could probably get them locally, depending on your location, but here all I could find were the tiny mini-micros, and they're too tiny and fragile for this use.

It's got both positions- normally closed, and normally open. Just hook one wire to the common terminal, then the other wire to either the open or closed terminal, whichever way you position it.

Here's where I got the mercury switches (as well as the weatherpaks and relays).

I don't like them as well as the micros, even though I did use one on the field cultivator. The mercury switches are WAY too touchy to fine tune.

As for hooking up to the EZ250, bear in mind that I'm not even remotely confident enough to advise on the radar. I bought the all-port cable from dealer to hook up mine to the ez-steer.
But here's a link to the EZ250's pinout locations. It's down on the second page of Chapter 7 (page 44). It shows pin 9 as "radar out".

I've got a Deere 8100 tractor and a Deere 250 monitor on my 7300 12x30 planter. The Deere 250 monitor harness has the radar port that I just hooked my tractor's radar output cable to, so mine is set up a tad different than yours.

Hope this helps. Any more questions, ask and I'll do my best with the limited knowledge I have.
Just be warned, once you start hooking up this stuff, it gets addictive! I've got switches on almost everything I pull.
