John, I enjoy your pics anytime, I had a field like #2 and the last pic in about 5 acres few years ago. Just for a food plot like your #2 really was nice. Had some neighbors had a fit that I planted it for deer. I should have made pics, it was awsome. Had a truck patch farmer called one nite and wanted to harvest it and sell it. So, we worked out a time frame so he would not mess up my deer hunting. He hauled off several loads and never made a dent in it. It was in purple top turnips and florida broadleaf mustard greens. Some areas had austrian winter peas and wheat mixed in int. It made some nice pocket change that fall. It really made a great corn crop after the cover crop/food plot. Harvested over 200 bu/acre dryland. And I am wondering why I don't plant this more often. Guess it really has'nt sunk in with us in the south like Ed Winkle like his cover patches. Hope to learn more on this.
