Hay Wilson in TX
Posted 11/17/2012 20:02 (#2702743 - in reply to #2701644)
Subject: anhydrous ammonia on established grass hay?

Little River, TX

It's simple. if you have a clay soil.

Have a leading coulter to cut the roots, followed by the anhydrous knife, followed by an closing devise.

Yetter among others have everything you need but the tool bar.

I expect Jim at Dawn could set you up also.

DMI has the system mounted on a tool bar for you

Four drops behind a 60 hp tractor followed by the nurse tank works. Though in this heavy clay soil and my old tractor I might want three drops on 42 inch centers. I now have a custom man do the work for me.

No problem with 500 lbs/A on 30 to 40 inch centers.

Figure  ± 50 lbs of AA for each expected ton of hay
