Ammonium Nitrite - some guys like to put it on in the fall, some in the spring at green up.
I know with cows if you put too much N on your pasture or hay ground it can cause problems for the cattle.

If your hay has any clover in it clover likes P & K.

Soil test would help you out alot to see where your at. I think they can do recommendations based off your soil test for hay ground like they do for corn/beans/wheat ect.
