If your gonna do it go ahead and do it right. I got just as much mpg increase from removing the egr system as I did from removing the dpf. Both require a tuner so I'd say do it all at once. My tuner is a Spartan. Great customer service and tons of different tunes. I think the website is spartandieseltech com. I recently got around 20mpg on a road trip with my 08.
