There is no clear cut answer. Some years there is and some years there isn't. Some soils do some don't. Also the yield drag can be minimized by using applying more resources although it may not be economical. All things considered with the same inputs applied I believe the yield drag does exist but as I stated management can alleviate a lot of the drag.
