Subject: RE: case vs white planter

I went from a JD to a White planter in 04'. Now days, I would not plant corn using anything but a White. I have never used a C-IH. I have a 12 row with a Kellerman fold (8222). It's a simple planter to maintain. There is no need for grafite or talc. The stock units (w/o any precision updates), if maintained ok, will get you a picket fence stand. The seed metering is via a positive air flow (its not a vac). The air pressure is easily had with a pto pump. Some use tractor hydraulics for this ( I have in the past) but I like the pump method better. In short, I haven't regreted going to a White.
