Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463
Mr John,
You have walked thru that door.

That is the south door where I live. The other one I fixed was at Lori's. I didn't do much work at Lori's, just bossed.

My east door is missing it's lower anchor. Cannot even find the 6 by 6.
Never built a shed with a door at the top of a hill!

So I leave it open about 9 month out of the year.
In the winter I sit a 1200# wheel weight just inside. Using a chain and binder, I anchor the door to the weight.

Last winter the door at Lori's was chained to the front of a Oliver 1650. Pulled up to the front weights.
Fixed that one in April.

Getting 400# of sackcrete home from Menards was a job.
First I located it.
Then found a four wheel cart.

Then loaded. At Menards that day 80# bags were cheaper per bag than 50# bags. So I went the 80# route. Would pay more for the 50 pounders if there is a next time.
So I put five bags on the cart.

Wheeled it to the checkout.

They about had a fit! "An old man like you should ask for help"
They rolled it out to the Jeep and loaded it for me.

And I was about shot after mixing 400# of the stuff.
Yes I was temped to finish up by doing the mixing in the hole.

One more thing:
The south door at Lori's is rotten on one end. That gutter lap joint right over one end leaks.
Way too many trees at Lori's for gutters. They are now all rusted and I have poked holes in the bottom to let the water out.

I am trying to talk BIL Lee to frame the door opening in. Then put about a 8' or 10' wide overhead door there.
I cannot remember ever driving a tractor thru that side door.
But a small overhead would be just right for BIL's lawn tractor.

I have parked tractor just inside the south or side door at my shed. Parked there for what would probably be long time repair jobs.
South doors are great because the sun does not get in very far in the summer.

The one on the 2-155 lasted over a year. Dave Morgan helped pull the 55 in a ways so the door could be closed. It was getting late enough in the fall that the cold breeze coming thru was not the best. That was 04 or 05.
I also had the Deere 4630 tore down for a hydraulic pump replace in the shade by my south door.
Gave up on that job and hauled the basket case to Van Walls.
