SE Michigan | To answer the last part of your question...
I don't care what you drive to stop by for a sales call. I might just give you more "cred" if you drove something other then a P/U - in other words, It would show that you can "think outside the box" and value substance over style. ( and don't need to be like everyone else)
Example: The last tractor I bought, the sales guy came out in a Buick Regal, I bought the tractor. - he told me for the ride / MPG's and comfort, it was way better then any P/U.
The last sales guy that came over, drove a 2500 Chevy. I did not buy from him...It had absolutly nothing to do with what he drove!
Now if you need a truck to deliver seed, go into fields, that is another story, it would make no sence to own both car / truck.
Just my thoughts.....
P.S. I drive a 2007 Saturn Sky Redline to pick up parts and other things where I don't need my truck. - I love to see the looks on some of the locals when I drive up to the dealer and pull a bunch of rusty / dirty parts out of the passanger side (no trunk) and walk into the dealer.
