Winkler, Manitoba Canada | "So the base station power or line of sight is no longer an issue if I upload to the internet, right? "
Correct, the base station no longer even needs or uses a radio. The base station simply supplies the correction information to a server connected to the internet. (a good stable internet connection is mandatory) The information is accessed at the rover end via the internet through a cell connection, which could be modem (such as an Intuicom), a smartphone or a combination of devices. Lance (mx270a) has free NTRIP software on his website to do the hosting at the base end and downloading at the rover end. Basically the software emulates a very long serial cable. | |
