The other was that current feeding was also based on cheap plentiful calves. Both of those basics are changing, according to the article. As calves become more scarce, I wonder if one of the side effects will be a decrease in the dockage for non-black hided calves. If there is a shortage of calves in the future, will feeders be happy to get and willing to pay a similar price for a GOOD QUALITY beef calf even if the hide is not black? Jim |
