My experience was running a SM & latter with an 806, neither of which had cabs. We did use "cabettes", or what many call windbreakers, in the late fall & earl spring. When it was really cold we would pull the curtains up over the engine & put on the windshield. I can remember a lot of hours spent plowing and burning up heading into the wind & freezing when the wind was towards your back which was open.
