Alberta, Canada | I'd hazard to say you may be better off purchasing instead of producing. A couple thoughts come to mind. I'll be brief unless asked more.
When you make your own feed, you get what can produce. Sometimes that's high quality high yielding feed, other times its rained on sh*t. When you're buying, you have the choice.
Investments in land rent and machinery for hay can be spent on barns and handling facilities and a better mixer. More concrete. ;)
TIME! Making feed requires a lot of time. And man power.
