northwest IL Lee Co
My uncle has a 20 ft super b with vaccuum cool and I have a 16 ft full heat. I can dry corn faster than he can but he uses about 20% less gas, but more electricity. (2-12 hp motors vs 2-9 hp) Need to go bigger if you want to vaccuum cool. I dump 130-145 degree corn and cool in the bin, works good. I don't see how shrink can be different with different dryers. You are removing the same amount of water regardless. Stir-alls burn a lot of gas and are SLOW. Took me 3 days and 800 gas of LP to dry 8500 bu of 18.5% corn in a 30 ft bin with a 10 hp fan. Could have done it in less that 24 hrs with less gas and elec with my CF dryer.
