“These are the times that try men's souls.”
When I was on the school board, the best phone call we ever got from a motel was one telling us to make sure you come back and book rooms with us for state competitions again! They had to call and tell our principal that our kids were the most behaved, and quiet kids that had stay there. Wife and I will also book a room in same motel as the kids so can be handy if our kids need us for something. Sure is nice to see that our coaches still make our kids dress up for game day. Make them wear ties and nice shirt and good dress pants or good jeans.

I had to laugh about the headboard comment, when my wife and I started to date she insisted that I go with her family to Las Vegas for the finals. Well the only room available was with her. Well I still remember to this day her dad turning to me and saying, son if I hear that headboard a banging in the night there is going to problems! He put the fear of god in me! I never went to the room only to shower and change clothes! I stayed up all night at the casino gambling. Figured my odds were better there and getting my neck rung by her dad! Needless to say my future wife wasn't to pleased with me. But kept me out of trouble.
