Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot
I don't think it matters much what you pay. I was in Seattle for a conference last year, wife and I stayed in the nicest place (definitely the most expensive) I've ever stayed. Walls must not have been well insulated since I could clearly here the guy next door's porn flick. Least I thought it was porno, either that or he has one vocal wife. I went to the front desk and explained, they helped us move to a different room and comped breakfast the next morning.

Conversely, I always stay at the same dive when I go down south, since it is cheap, right off the freeway, and a short 20 min hop into Sacramento. Seems they are always at the front desk even if I don't get down there until 1 am, never made reservations. Quiet as can be.
