Subject: Re: seed tender vs pro box vac

Decatur, Illinois
I would reccomend a 4 box tender. We run a Travis seed cart, I would purchase another if I was in the market. I have used the vac type Pryor to owning this setup. While the vac sounds like a nice setup, the extreme noise, dust, static electricity, and other issues associated with a vac would deter me from going back. I believe the vac is hard on the treatments on this seed, there is a lot of it blowing out the top of the cyclone, and most of the time in your face! There are learning curves to any system. Hooking the hose to the back of the planter and let ER rip sounds good, but what your not thnking of is first you gotta drag that 40 foot sob out hookup one end then climb the ditch to hook the other. Then if your not careful and you open the gate on the probox too far the vac will plug/start surging. The auger/conveyor type seed tender has simplified the seed tending for us and made our life less stressful
