southern MN
Mom told stories, came in so fast, snow got so deep. Turkeys all froze to death, they tried to butcher & can away as much as they could to save what they could. Was 1940, between the ecconomy & the world events, was a tough time, the loss of food like that was hard on families. Lot of people stranded, but st least mom's family didn't lose any people. Just set up for a hard winter.
