i have never planted radishes. i assume it is supposed to be good for the ground. would someone please explain the reason to plant radishes if you harvest them or destroy them and what they due for the soil? sorry i have no glue.



I continue to read, watch and gather info -
I'm not sure how those type of cover crops would work "here" in our location, due to our late fall harvest and freeze up (lack of fall growing season) - as compared to the areas that do those types of cover croping (where their harvesting starts in early sept) . .  .
It would work here, behind small grains . . . but, those are getting fewer and fewer, as corn and beans demonate in return profits.
I sure could use some of those radish for breaking some gumbo clay ground . . . .
