I had a friend trade in a SUV on a big promotion.  Dealer rep filled out app and buyer drove an almost new car out the door.  Monday they called and said credit app was not accepted and to bring back the car  - SUV had already been sold.  "Sorry, buyer is just out of luck."   I went in and suggested some cages needed rattled all the way to the top zoo keeper; MAKE IT RIGHT!.  They went to a sister dealership and found another almost new car using that credit app: interest rate was high.

This was one of the biggest dealers in town.  Ethical dealers are far and few between.  Selling SUV prior to credit approval  was illegal from what I have since been told, I thought it certainly was unethical.
