NEMO

Pump threads are right hand threaded. JDG587 is the Servicegard tool #. There are a lot of guys that remove the hoses to replace belts because they do not want to deal with removing the pump. I never do just because I don't want to deal with the mess and besides I have the proper tool anyway. The other thing is that I don't want to mess with the suction hose and inadvertently cause a suction leak at the pump. The double open end wrench does work in a pinch. If you do remove the pump, apply a light coat of neverseeze to the threads and the tapered part of the shaft when reinstalling. If you do get the special tool, make sure to wear protective eyewear and gloves as the wrench is made of hardened steel and peices can chip off when striking it with a hammer. Good luck.
