Subject: Re: I beams in shop floor

Ontario, Canada
If i was building another shop, this would be an absolute must. We have one now, its a piece of channel flush with the cement, we welded some rod to each side and joined the rebar to it. The building is a steel frame and is connected to the beam in the floor, so it can be used as a ground for welding. We weld to it all the time. Chains usually when we have to straighten something or hold a side of something down. We just grind the welds off when we're done. For the price of installing one its worth having for the welding ground aspect alone, if you have a large shop.
