I farm a wide variety of soil types and locations. Some fields are more likely in wet years to have a claim, some more likely in dry years. The best chance I have of recouping my crop insurance "investment" is with optional units. Enterprise units will rarely yield a claim, but quite often optional units at least get the premium paid. It sort of depends on each individual operation.
