Southeast Wyoming | happycatcher - 11/4/2012 18:21 My kids and I were having dinner with the sitter and her husband. Had they not lived next door, I wouldn't have had a glass of wine because then we would have had to drive home. My father died when I was eighteen from alcoholism; it's a horrible thing. I was embarrassed that on my night to drive, I forgot I was the DD and had to get someone else; I don't like being unreliable.
I'm sorry. You have my sympathy. I have cousins with a similar story and my heart goes out to all with that story. It is a hard battle and, as I said, I don't mean to try to put you down for your efforts.
I didn't drink at an early age but did some for a few years. I was at a planning event and refused to drink alcohol served with a meal. A friend was a little upset and said: "I drink beer because I like beer!"; to which I replied: "I DON'T drink beer because I like beer!" He immediately understood what I was saying and why I was not drinking.
Take care. |
