Northeast Nebraska
When you slug feed short beans because you are running an auger header, you get uneven threshing. Even threshing = more beans in the tank

Where we ran a draper besides the auger in 85 bushels beans, the auger couldnt move the crop fast enough. There just wasnt enough room to get that much crop under the auger on its way to the feederhouse. It wasnt an issue at the ends of the auger, but towards the middle there was so much accumulated, it would push beans into the reel. The reel was up and out.

The draper belts moved the crop with ease. Because the reel could be ran higher and the beans fell flat onto the belts, we never had an issue with it beating on the large mass of crop towards the center of the head.
