The power company requires a vfd on any motor over 7.5 hp. Yes i am on single phase. They are afraid of the sudden drop from starting the larger motors. I guess i dont know the difference between a VFD and a soft start. I know the VFD he installed is ALOT higher than the link a few posts up is.
