However I do not like going thru Madrid. Then you have Woodward, before getting on 141.
But you could turn south on 17 at Madrid. Would miss the bad part with the turns.
South on 17 to 141 at Granger.
Several years ago I had a planter purchased in Nebraska trucked to Van Wall at Perry.
Big snow storm so the gravel roads were out.
So I drove the 4630 to Van Wall on 44 and 169.
Coming home I went east on 141. That was a piece of cake. Nice wide shoulders. And being four lane, the cars can get around you just great.
Just another idea! How about 92 south of Des Moines.
West to 169 at Winterset?
