Subject: Hydraulic drive grain cart

2 years ago we bought a Brandt GCX 1050 grain cart with hydraulic drive. For the last couple years to start the auger we have been pulling back the 2 hydraulics and then opening the flow control in the cab to 100%. After reading in the book on how to operate the auger with the hydraulic drive they reccomend "snapping" the hydraulics back and leaving the flow control open all the time. It says "DO NOT SLOWLY OPEN VALVES". I tried it the way it says to in the operators manual and it started up just fine, no banging into gear or hard starting. what would be their reasoning for not slowly opening the valves???
