Nebraska, The land of corn and cattle | As far as the header I'm not sure. We have an 8400 with an 8450 head on it. We traded off a 1160 pull type. If you can I'd definatly find a 8450, the double sickle is MUCH better than the single, If you're set on the 8400 the cummins engine is the newer model and AFAIK its a much better engine, though I've never seen one with the fiat. The biggest things to watch are your normal things, leaks come in 2 forms on a SP windrower, little and big, you only worry bout the big ones lol. The chain drive boxes can give you problems, if the chain breaks you can go for a ride if you're on a hill. If someone can't tell you when the chain was changed I would go ahead and do it. Other than that if you can get the hydro pressure checked. |
