Subject: JD 9630 drawbar pin

Pontiac, IL.
Our 9630 drawbar pin is about 3" in diameter.(Category V, I think). Our JD 512 disc ripper, serial #27xx has the cat. 3 or 4 pintle hitch with approx. 2.25" hole. Deere does not make a replacement pintle "eye hitch" for the large pin that will fit pre serial # 10,000. The hitch bolts on with two 1" bolts crossways. The holes are 2 1/4" on center, and the pintle hitch is 4" wide. This is the same pattern as a lot of other machines, ie DMI nh3 applicators, and other implements, (not JD) Does any other mfgr. make a 3" pintle "eye" hitch that would bolt on the 512 ripper? If I bore (torch) the hole bigger, there will not be a lot of "meat" left on the sides. Deere's answer is to buy a $400+ drawbar reduction kit that converts the drawbar to the smaller hole.
