Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80 | When pulling heavy loads(like full gravity boxes during harvest) and I get on the road/highway, and go to shift into 8th, I quickly pull throttle back to 1/2 to 2/3 throttle(after pushing lever into 8th gear), then add more throttle.
This allows the tranny to get into 8th gear easily, and then increasing the throttle has the engine doing the work, and not have tranny slipping any more than necessary.
Note: This as been discussed before, and I known there is another farmer, on here, that does the same thing. |
