Your #2 doesn't look so hot this year. I thought about following a friend out there a few years back. I was out there over the weekend and 3 foot tall irrigated corn with no ear doesn't look like much fun. At least here our irrigated corn will still be good, just not great.

Sometimes I wouldn't mind being back home in southeast WI, but trying to get "farms" instead of chunks of ground was impossible. I am pretty content here, I just wish my irrigated was closer to home where I could chck it all with my ATV, and I wish I had more irrigated ground.
