U can run the draper a long time with small tears. Just don't over tighten it. Those end covers get bent easy and mangle. I took mine off the right side as thats the end I go around the field the first time with. Ragweeds raise heck with them. Take the transport wheels off and throw them away or sell them. Just my opinion.
