Subject: Re: Ethanol is the problem

NE Iowa
People are blaming subsidies for their financial problems. For years hog and cattle feeders were indirectly subsidized by the grain subsidies that insured a large supply of cheap grain. The dairy farmers got hosed because having hay ground screwed up their corn base. The grain reserves ruined grain farmers opportunity to capitalize on short crops. Now our resident livestock feeders are crying that the ethanol subsidies are hurting them and should be ended to favor them. Ag, as most business is cyclical. Subsidies just screw up things for people who understand business. End all subsidies. Until then don't cry to me during the times it works against you and assume everything is good when it works in your favor. Subsidies are a 2 edged sword.
