Blue Grass (Eastern IA) | Been looking for a couple of years for a dump truck to use for rock/grain hauling. I've watched truckpaper and other sites, as well a auctions. Looking for an Allision because wife and other inexperienced help will be driving it. Have 2 old trucks now with 5+4 trans. We get along OK because the main trans. is synchronized, novices just leave the aux in 3 and go, but the trucks are tired. It's only a 4 mile haul to the elevator. Have not had any luck finding an auto. Are there any other synchronized trans. on newer trucks which don't need to be speed matched like the 8LL and 13 speeds? Or should I keep looking for an auto? Perfect truck would be 1990-1995 non electronic Ford with 8.3 Cummins, auto, A/C, 16ft+ box with tall sides, no plow trucks, under $25K. |
