NE SD | We have a Butler "Farmsted" that was built in 79 or 80 that has the original steel on it that looks good yet. It is that ugly yellow color. Anything that was red or blue or whatever at that time needed new steel or painting long ago. We also put up a new Butler shop last fall/winter and I think this one, like any, will depend on the color selection of steel. They claim it doesn't do it anymore, but I will put money that any red or blue color will get chalky and white over time. The 20-ish year old red Morton building we bought a few years back is turning chalky. Your best bet is to stick with the tans and browns.....neutral colors. |
