My dad did the acoustical steel and wishes he didn't based on looks. They originally had a vapor barrier behind it but when they started putting it up they noticed that it looked wavy based on if the plastic was touching the steel or not. They tried white plastic with similar results. They ended up just wrapping the 2x4 s that are behind it.
