| Not unusual to have 30 to 40 at the quarry every day. They like to sit on the edge of the highwall and air their wings out in the mornings. In my younger days I would work along the edge loading holes to blast and they would circle overhead the whole time I was loading. I would see their shadows as I was bent down over the holes and it was always a bit spooky. They would get within 10-12 feet but you always wondered if they may do something different. They show up in March every year almost always on the same day. Ugly critters and where they roost on some of the water pipes going up the wall it looks like it has been painted white. | |
